Miley Cyrus is a teen star who has so far based her hugely successful career on her cute and wholesome image, but there was nothing sweet sixteen about her performance at the recent Teen Choice Awards, and it seems as if the curse of the music industry has struck again, which seems to demand that any young female pop star ‘sex up’ their image as soon as possible in order to make it big worldwide.
The same thing happened to Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and a whole host of other teen pop stars, and it seems as if Miley Cyrus has fallen victim to the same demands, shedding her wholesome image at the Teen Choice Award appearing on stage in micro shorts, black leather biker boots and teeny tank top.
From a parents point of few the worst was yet to come as part way through the performance of her new single “The Time of Our Lives” a lap dancing style pole appeared from the set piece ice cream van Cyrus was singing from, and she then proceeded to dance around it in a rather provocative fashion, a scene which those watching the show with their young teens and pre-teens found profoundly distasteful and disturbing.
